Junior Leadership Team

Our Junior Leadership Team is the children’s voice. We work together to make the school a better place. Each class selects two representatives who meet at least once every half term to feedback and discuss their year group’s concerns and ideas.  The members' key role is to support their classes in achieving our school improvement targets.  They are also consulted on many matters, such as the appointment of senior members of staff, curriculum changes, school uniform and ways to encourage attendance and behaviour.  In 2023 -2024 they are piloting involvement in the Archbishops Young Leaders Award.

There are opportunities for Junior Leadership Representatives to meet with other School Councils to discuss local and national issues.    In 2022 the JLT visited parliament and spoke with our Local MP, Chris Loder about sustainability issues.  They presented him with a letter written by the schools eco club.

Minutes are kept of every meeting, and shared with all teaching staff, and are also available for parents to read on the notice board in the foyer.

All children are encouraged to share ideas or concerns with their JLT Representative, so that any issues can be considered, and where possible, appropriate action taken.

This year's JLT helped design our class posters to remind pupils of key areas we are working on as a school.  They helped introduce these targets to their classes.
