The School Day
At St Mary's School, all the pupils, parents and staff know how important good attendance is for children’s well-being and progress. (borrowed from another schools web)

The school gates are open from 8.40 am and children need to settle into class promptly ready to learn.
We encourage independence coming in to class - in KS1 class teachers meet and greet their pupils, in KS2 children enter via their playground and a member of staff can take messages to give to the class teachers.
Registers are taken at 8.50 am. Children will be marked in late up until 9.00 am. Children arriving after 9.00 am will be marked in as unauthorised unless you have notified the school beforehand to let us know e.g. car breakdown etc.
If you arrive late, to avoid disrupting learning you will need to take your child to reception where their arrival will be noted by the school office. They will then ensure your child is taken in to class.
