Year 3 have been developing their mental maths for addition and subtraction using a range strategies from adjusting, partitioning and finding the difference.  They have been developing their use of part, part whole and bar models to help them explain their thinking.  In literacy the children have been developing their skills of editing by using the speed sound charts for their spelling sounds and peer marking to upscale their word choice.

Our trip for the topic Urban Pioneers took us to the beautifully decorated wall by the football ground and there was a lot of discussion about how urban art could enhance areas.  The children also discovered more about the history of Bridport by researching Dr Roberts and the rope making industry.  They enjoyed making and looking at maps and using four-figure grid references.
